What is Connectedness?
Connectedness describes the feeling of emotional or social connection to other people, to a community, to nature or to the world in general. It is a deep and valuable feeling that plays an important role in our lives
This feeling of connection can occur on different levels. On a personal level, it expresses itself in strong interpersonal relationships, be it friendships, partnerships or family ties. It is the glue that strengthens relationships and makes us feel like we are not alone.
In a larger societal and global perspective, connectedness is an acknowledgment of our impact on the world around us. It encourages us to treat our environment responsibly and to work for the well-being of other people and future generations.
The experience of connectedness can also have a spiritual dimension, where people feel a deep sense of oneness with all life. This can provide a feeling of peace and harmony.
At a time when social isolation and alienation can increase, the experience of connection is of great importance. It promotes empathy, compassion and a sense of belonging, which in turn strengthens our psychological well-being. Connectedness reminds us that we are part of a larger whole and that our actions and relationships have meaning.
